Soil Association

Project managed the public communication of the charity's school meals initiative, Food For Life, the most successful campaign in the organisation's 60-year history. My team and I generated 2,000 items of coverage during the campaign's launch phase including in every national newspaper, on Today and on numerous national and regional television news programmes. This coverage helped to influence government policy ... and all two years before Jamie Oliver became vocal on the subject!

Gained consistent coverage in the national news media (including Today and national newspapers) about concerns relating to genetically modified food, which helped to lead to a rejection of GM food in the UK.

Raised awareness about the use of antibiotics in intensive farming leading to consistently high levels of coverage including a front page lead story in The Guardian and coverage on Today.

Promoted new consumer initiatives such as organic clothing, beauty products and restaurants.

Highly commended in the 2004 PR Week Awards.

Age Concern

Ran media-focused campaigns to raise awareness about the inequalities faced by older people in the NHS and at work, and to highlight issues surrounding social security benefits. Headed up the media relations work for the United Nation's International Year of Older Persons in 1999.

British Red Cross

Was in charge of the press desk for the organisation's Eastern Europe department and developed a media campaign to promote the charity's work to trace missing people.

Oxfam

Supported the policy and campaigns departments to raise awareness about international trade issues and working conditions.
